The final report defined universal health care: All Washington residents can access essential, effective, appropriate, and affordable health care services when and where they need it.

NSP and our co-members in HCHR support Model A which would be achieved through a state-governed and administered program and covers undocumented immigrant Washington residents and their families.

In 2021 the Washington State Legislature passed SB 5399, establishing the Universal Health Care Commission to:

Create immediate and impactful changes in Washington’s health care access and delivery.

Prepare for the creation of a health care system which provides coverage and access through a universal financing system.

WE BELIEVE:

All persons must be able to access essential, effective, appropriate, and affordable health care services when and where they need it.

Becoming active is necessary to promote positive change to achieve universal healthcare.
