New Initiative from Indivisible Guide

Big News

Indivisible HQ is rolling out in-person Indivisible Regional Institutes and training for local groups this fall! (All of us who have been trying to coordinate between and among groups, we don’t have to re-invent the wheel – they are providing the wheel for us.) Here’s the email they sent today.

You know we don’t send a lot of fundraising emails. That’s not our style. But we are just so seriously jazzed up about this new initiative, and we need your help to make it happen. Get excited with us.

We’ve heard directly from you and members of the 6,000 local Indivisible groups that you need more support: advanced organizing skills, improved coordination with other groups, and space to plan and strategize. Our core strategy is investing in local leadership to realize the potential of the Indivisible movement. So with your support, this is what we’re going to do:

Announcing Indivisible Regional Institutes.
We are super excited to announce Indivisible Regional Institutes this fall, which will allow us to do the key thing that has been crucial for this entire movement: bringing Indivisibles together in person.
It’s like, IndivisiSchool. At each two-day Regional Institute, Indivisible group leaders will receive core organizing trainings, improve connections and collaboration with other groups, and deepen their sense of shared purpose as part of this movement.

The Institutes will be aimed at these two two goals:
1. Increase capacity to lead civic engagement actions and campaigns through skills training on organizing, developing campaign strategy, and creating a stronger sense of shared purpose;
2. Improve collaboration within and between groups by teaching techniques for creating shared decision-making processes within groups, building relationships in person, and developing tangible, joint actions.

We’re not winging this. To prepare for this, our organizing team has been working closely with Marshall Ganz — former organizer for United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez and current senior lecturer in public policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. We’ll be working closely to prepare materials for his team of trainers to conduct a training of trainers (ToT) for Indivisible group leaders.

OK, now we need your help to make this happen.
How amazing does this sound? Indivisibles across the country, coming together for regional trainings, designed by the preeminent experts in local power-building. And we also want to provide scholarships to Indivisibles who aren’t able to afford it on their own.

Both the number of Regional Institutes and the number of Indivisibles we can host depends directly on how much you’re willing to invest. BUT – we lined up a donor who will match your donation dollar for dollar, to help us get to our goal even faster.

Your donation is also tax deductible.

Please help us make this available to as many Indivisible group leaders as possible:
Wondering how much to pitch in? Here’s what your donation will allow us to do:
• Materials packet and training resources for three attendees: $23.
• Venue and audio/video rental per person: $51.
• Catering per person for the full Institute: $97.
• Roundtrip airfare for one person to attend the Institute: $350.
• Full cost of one person to attend the institute (flight, lodging, staff time, trainers, materials, venue rental): $1760.
Remember, every dollar you contribute will be matched 100 percent! If you can chip in $5, that turns into $10 to support our Indivisible group leaders. That means your $23 is $46 and enough for training resources for six attendees.

There will be many long fights ahead, and our groups are ready to do what it takes to win. Please chip in whatever you can to help us continue to grow our movement and fight for progressive values.

In Solidarity,
Indivisible Team
